Room Use Policy

To help keep AA-Alive a safe place for all to come to visit for recovery from alcoholism, we have listed our room use policy.

We strive to have a safe and harmonious place for all to use, long timers as well as newcomers.

Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

To reduce any problems with trolls and trouble makers, you agree to register with one user name only.  Trolls/trouble makers  come in only to disrupt meetings, upset people in the room and cause arguments.  Your help with this keeps the room safer for all.

Racial, political, ethnic, sexual orientation and religious slurs, personal attacks, harassment, name calling (including names such as troll or anything similar, without substantial visual proof) is considered offensive and are not acceptable.   Belittling, denigrating, 13th stepping, sexual innuendo and/or graphic descriptions of sex are not acceptable.  This applies to text posted in the room and in private messages.

Non-A.A. links such as You Tube videos may be sent in whispers, but only A.A. recovery links are allowed in the room. Religious, political, racist and pornographic sites are unacceptable and subject to immediate sanctions.

Arguing and bickering is upsetting to newcomers as well as regular members and is not conducive to recovery.

If a moderator here asks you to refrain from any of the above, please cooperate, so that your participation will not be limited through sanctions.  Sanctions include:  A. Warnings. B. Chat Restriction (gag)  C. Kicks  D. Suspension ( Denial of access to the room ) for a period of time appropriate to the severity of the infraction.

Room members should also be aware that all communications through official means will be considered part of the official record including: letters, emails, phone calls, texts and the like; and the sanctions mentioned above apply to these also.

We thank you for your help and cooperation in keeping AA-Alive.net centered on recovery from alcoholism, and being the hand of A.A.
